Our Senior Team and Sketch Artists

We wanted to give a big shout out to our new sketch artist Brenshevia Baker!   Brenshevia will join Lisa in bringing you monthly inspiration in the form of sketches.  We hope that the two different styles will get you  creating outside of your comfort zone and bring you endless inspiration as you preserve your memories.

Here's a little background about Brenshevia:
I have be scrapbooking for about 5 years now.  I started back in 2007 when I went home for my 20th class reunion.  My godsister started telling me about how she scrapped and how fun it was. I became so interested that I came home and tried my hand at it and loved it!  The rest as they say is history. I don’t really have a style, I pretty much scrap the moment so my page could be clean and simple or elegant and elaborate.  I am the mother of two and grandmother of three.  As you will see, my grand babies are the
primary subject of my pages, I LOVE scrapping those faces! Please allow me to share my life's journey in pictures with you.    For more inspiration and sketchy goodness from Brenshevia please visit her blog:

While we have added a new sketch artist and six new DT members our founding team is still an integral part of Sketch N Scrap.  Site owner and founder Jewels Price and Sketch artist and site co-owner Lisa Hidy are excited at all the growth Sketch N Scrap has seen since we started with our first sketch just this past May.  We are happy that our original three DT members have decided to stay on as Senior DT members.  Kelly Holifield, Amy Edwards, and Heather Hall will continue to offer us monthly inspiration.  Kelly is also going to be assisting us as blog coordinator as well, so be looking for upcoming blog posts from her.  We hope you will join us on the 1st and 15th of each month when our sketches are revealed.  We have a little "bonus" holiday surprise planned for you in December and lots of other fun little "projects" are in the works to bring you even more scrappy inspiration and sketchy goodness, so please sign up to follow our blog so you won't miss out on the fun things in store in the upcoming month as well as new year!   There is still time to play along with our sketches for November...it's easy, just use our sketch as inspiration for your layout and link up in the sidebar by November 30th for a chance to win our November prize from A Flair for Buttons!

Design Team Intros - Part two

I am so excited to share with our followers the rest of our new design team members!  Please welcome:

Hi! My name is Crystal. I live in central Pennsylvania. I am a mom to one boy, a wife, and a full time counselor/advocate. I love to create and have always crafted in some form or another throughout my entire life. I have been scrapbooking in the form we think of it today since about 2002. I do a mix of paper, hybrid, and digital scrapping with a little bit of art journal influence thrown in sometimes. I love to use sketches as my starting points—although sometimes I go off in my very own direction and my final result has little in common with the sketch inspiration. I am an online scrap class junkie. I’m always on the lookout for new techniques to try, ways to approach scrapping, or just new forms of inspiration.
For more of Crystal's work please visit her blog, Crystal's Garden.

My name is Mandi. I am twenty-three years old and live in Michigan with my parents, brother and a spoiled dog. I have been crafting for as long as I can remember but really got into it when I was teen. That is when my dad was getting me more into paper crafting. I am sure he didn't realize what a large stash accumulating over the years. I was thirteen when I put together my first scrapbook together and the subject was a tiny, little, fur ball, name Buster. I love to make scrapbook pages, cards and altered items. Besides crafting, I love to spend time cooking and spending time with my family.
Please visit Mandi's blog, The Kraze of MJ, for loads of inspiration.

Hello, my name is Lynette Jacobs. I live in Port Elizabeth on the east coast of South Africa.  I have been married to Kobus for the past 33 years and we have three grown children.  We have been blessed with six beautiful grandchildren who are also the subject of most of my scrapping. My husband and I founded a non-profit organization that provides for the needs of nearly 600 homeless and poor people whom we house at the Mission.  This work is very stressful and emotional and scrapbooking provides me with much needed stress-relief.  I started scrapbooking in 2005 and was instantly hooked.  I love that my hobby can give me so much pleasure and at the same time create a legacy for my children and grandchildren. Until recently I preferred doing only layouts that can be slipped into my albums.  I have now developed a love for mini albums as gifts to my love ones and also love making handmade cards.  To see more of Lynette's work visit her blog, A Work in Progress.

DT intros - Part one

Now that things are slowing down a bit after our big holiday week last week we would like to take the opportunity to introduce more formally our new DT members!  We are thrilled to welcome
Monica
My name is Monica Moore and I'm from the midwest state of Indiana.  I'm recently married so you will find that a lot of my pages are of my husband and I (new and old).  I also have two little kittens that my husband and I added to our little family over the summer.  I've always been a crafty and artistic person and scrapbooking has been a fun way for me to be crafty without having to over think things.  I've been scrapbooking since I was in middle school, but I've really gotten into it in the past two years.  I had the opportunity to work at a scrapbook store for a year, which really helped my stash GROW! My stash has gotten a little out of hand, but who's isn't?!?!?!  I love to scrapbook anything that happens in my life, the big things and small things.  My favorite scrapbook brands are October Afternoon, Simple Stoires and My Mind's Eye just to name a few.  You'll find in my pages that I'm not afraid to mix and match brands, I just use what I think looks good together.  Monica recently started her own blog, called Document Moore Memories so be sure to check it out if you would like to see more of Monica's lovely work.

I am a wife and mother to 3 girls and we live in a very small village in Essex, United Kingdom. I have been scrapbooking for about 7 years and I run a local scrapbooking club. I have tried my hand at several crafts but I think scrapbooking is my ultimate favourite by far, I just love the diversity in the industry where no matter what your style or skill there is always a product to enhance or help in your creativity. My favourite product has to be paper (can you have too much paper?) and my favourite tool is my Bigshot.
My other hobbies include reading, gardening (including growing my own veg) and I have just learnt how to switch from auto to manual on my DSLR!  I love nothing better than doing scrappy challenges sas it makes
me think out side my little square box and I enjoy blogging to get inspiration and new ideas (there is just so much out there).  Please visit Kerry's blog, Scrapbooking for the love of paper, for more inspiration!

Hi my name is Tamika and just like Will Smith I am Philadelphia born and raised. My husband and I have two sons, two daughters and two dogs between the two of us. My daughters are growing up so quickly but I am far enough behind in my scrapping that they will stay young forever in my heart, lol. I have been a crafter all of my life in some shape or form. It started with drawings, then home-made paper dolls, sewing, cooking, fabric painting, latch-hooking, jewelry making, nail art & designs, crocheting and finally my true love scrapbooking. I started scrapbooking after receiving a mail order kit and my passion for this art form has grown over the years. Besides layouts I enjoy creating hand made gift items, cards, notepads, etc. and I teach crafting classes at an Assisted Living Facility twice a month. I find creating pages therapeutic and my own private escape from life's hustles and bustles. I love using sketches and I look forward to sharing and learning from you. You can find more of Tamika's work on her blog, Phillyscraps.

I hope you will join me in welcoming these lovely ladies to our team!  We have three more DT members, one sketch artist and THREE senior DT members to introduce in the next few days, so join me again tomorrow for more introductions!
